No one really expects something ordinary from someone who does a little bit of everything. 2010–1982 is not an ordinary release.

The album is an even blend of original and cover songs. With two decades of live performance behind him, Chris has learned his fair share of cover songs. “It was more of an evolving idea”, Chris comments, “we recorded thirty songs.” The recording is an endearing collection, hinting at a personal journey through songs and song-writing a casual observer rarely sees.

Chris Wynters is a gem in the Edmonton artistic community. A career that began divided between music and theatre 20 years ago
continues to flourish in both discipline. In 1993 Chris formed the band Captain Tractor. A very successful run in the 90’s included seven albums, nine videos, and dozens of awards and tours, including a gold record in Canada. The band is still going, with a new 2010 release scheduled on Six Shooter Records.

Chris’ theatrical career has experienced great longevity and variety as well, spanning the past two decades alongside his musical career, and most recently highlighted by his latest music play, “Saint Aggie’s ‘84” which will run at the Edinburgh Fringe in
Scotland.

Finally, adding to his wide impact in the communtiy, Chris and partner James Murdoch opened The Norwood Studio in 2006 and have produced a wide range of local artists, including James Murdoch Band, The Wheat Pool, Deon Blyan, and
Martin Kerr.

2010–1982 could never have been ordinary. The journey has not been an ordinary one. The almost three decades of music covered is equally unique, covering the likes of REM, Thomas Dolby, and Lloyd Cole. The songs are well-established folk-pop, backed up by many of the friends Chris has built his career with in Edmonton. Light spirited, lifted by regular flourishes of accordian and mandolin, the record stays centered despite its wandering list of song-writers.

Chris has a busy second half of 2010 ahead of him, supporting the new record, preparing for the new Captain Tractor record, and continuing to work his stage projects.
