You can’t fight progress. Cliche one, down. Change is for the better. Two down. If it ain’t broke… three down.

When Greg Amundson, the creative force behind Hector Fector, felt compelled enough to shed the band moniker and record under his own name, well, some cliches flew through our minds. The name was already out there, why change it? Well he had good reasons. Was the music changing? Did he hate the old band? No, none of it true. So we argued that we would prefer him to stick with HF. But the real artistic types, they are driven inside in a way we shouldn’t mess with. So we relented.

Greg creates and records with a relentless sincerity, and almost uncomfortable passion for himself and those around him. Those who seem to tap in to a great conscience, a melodic drift, that the rest of those don’t have access to – well it makes us uncomfortable. It also makes things really exciting.

So we are excited to present the new record by Greg Amundson, “White, White”. It is a cohesive, thematic, experimental record which is spiritual on many levels, to the writer and the listener. It breaks ranks with the honed folk-rock-pop of the Shameless brethern and wanders down electronic wavelengths with broad strokes of earnest.

It is far more the true presentation of Greg than Hector Fector ever could be. Why would we stand in the way of that?

“White, White” is available for order now, and online within weeks. Check out the local release show and the initial press as well:
